Chalet and local information

Walking to the beach across the gently undulating dunes is a highlight and absolute must, it takes 15-20 minutes to reach either Gwithian or the Towans beaches (suggested walking routes shown in grey on the map below). There is an excellent village pub and popular beach cafes within walking distance and more great food options, shops and restaurants a few minutes drive away. Surf lessons and surf, bodyboard and wetsuit hire are available close by.

Is the chalet suitable for my group?
Beachbreak is wonderful for families, particularly during school holidays. The site is a safe space for children to explore and make friends, many returning year after year. Parents can relax with a sundowner on the deck whilst the kids play on the dunes, sliding down on boards or just enjoying the huge natural sandpit! The nearest beaches at Gwithian and The Towans are brilliant for children, with rock pools, bodyboarding and perfect sand for building castles.
Beachbreak is not equipped for babies and toddlers – please do contact us if you have any questions about suitability.
Couples, friends, surfers, walkers, art lovers and visitors with dogs (ok, everyone!), will find Beachbreak perfectly located for exploring the local beaches and dunes with the added option of visiting outside of school holidays to enjoy the peace, tranquility and seasonal flora and fauna. Beachbreak is a great base for exploring Cornwall at anytime but key attractions and roads will generally be quieter at these times. The chalet has a simple, pared-back feel that makes staying here an escape from every-day, restful and rejuvenating, without compromising on comfort and quality.

Dogs
Up to two well behaved dogs are welcome for an additional charge of £30 except during school summer holidays, between 17 July and 28 August 2026, due to site rules. During the dog friendly period the chalet has a Lords and Labradors wooden dog crate/bed, suitable for small to medium sized dogs. It has a mattress but please bring your own dog blankets to use with it. Dogs must not be left unaccompanied in the chalet.
There are plenty of dog friendly beaches nearby and the dunes are fabulous for exploring straight from the chalet. Gwithian South/Upton Towans beach is dog friendly all year round (walkable from the chalet and accessible from direction of The Towans and Gwithian North beaches at low tide). Dogs are officially prohibited from Gwithian North and Godrevy Beaches from 1 July to 31 August 2026 between 10:00 – 18:00.
The majority of local cafes and restaurants are dog friendly.
